The first quarter of 2022 saw notable performances from the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Brazil, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

Uber - Request a ride had a strong quarter with weekly downloads starting at around 337K at the end of December 2021 and peaking at approximately 379K in early March. Active users were also robust, beginning at over 10.9M and reaching a high of nearly 12.8M in early March, before settling at around 11.9M by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides saw steady weekly downloads, starting from 105K at the end of December and staying consistent around 98K by the end of March. Their active user base grew from around 2.8M to nearly 2.9M over the quarter, indicating a stable user engagement.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced moderate weekly downloads, beginning at approximately 77K and ending at around 87K. The active users fluctuated slightly, starting at about 996K, peaking at over 978K in early February, and closing the quarter at approximately 952K.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus had a varied download trend, beginning with around 136K downloads in late December and tapering off to about 48K by the end of March. Active users saw a decrease from roughly 1.25M to around 923K throughout the quarter, with a notable peak of 1.09M in late February.

Waze Carpool showed consistent growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads started at about 6.1K in late December and increased to roughly 15.3K by the end of March. Active users also rose steadily from around 11.5K to nearly 23K over the quarter.
